Before one enters the Imaginal consciously, something must be relinquished. Not intelligence. Not discernment.
But the unquestioned dominance of conditioned perception.
The journey to the Imaginal is not a movement into fantasy; it is a movement beyond inherited filters. It requires recognizing how thoroughly perception has been shaped — culturally, psychologically, neurologically — and gently loosening that grip.
Over time these repeated messages become internalized as mental filters. These filters guide how individuals interpret reality, often without conscious awareness. What began as helpful social learning gradually becomes a cognitive framework that limits perception.
Modernity has amplified certain filters — particularly materialism and hyper-rationalism — while weakening symbolic literacy. Under such conditioning, Imaginal experience is often dismissed as fantasy, projection, or irrationality......
