CH 5: The Imaginal and the Energetic Body

Beneath and within our physical structure lies a subtler dimension of organization that modern science is only beginning to explore more fully. Every cell in the body operates through electrical signaling. Nerve cells communicate through electrical impulses. The heart generates powerful electromagnetic rhythms. The brain continuously produces electrical oscillations that can be measured through electroencephalography.
Taken together, these signals create an electromagnetic field surrounding and permeating the body.

This field is not static. It fluctuates constantly as the nervous system processes sensory input, emotional states shift, and thoughts move through the mind. Many contemplative traditions throughout history have referred to this dimension of human experience as the energetic body.......
