MODULE 1A
We would like everyone, no matter what their level of experience, to gain a clear understanding of the foundational practices in the Interoceptive Yoga world. This requires a revisioning or reframing of three core concepts. Breathing (Pranayama), Movement (Hatha Yoga), and Meditation (Inner Work).
BREATH SEQUENCING
In Module 1A we demonstrate how to move beyond mechanical breathing patterns by learning to extend the timing, flow and sequencing beyond common practice. Additionally we learn to connect a Self Organizing Intention to the breath, aligning our conscious focus with improving the blood's ability for absorption, circulation and release of oxygen into the core. Intentional extended breathing, which we call Interoceptive Breathing, is a process which paradoxically increases CO2 INSIDE the body. Increased CO2 within the body is actually beneficial as it promotes dilation of the blood vessels, facilitates deeper oxygenation of the blood, improves production of nitric oxide supporting circulation and nurtures the nervous system to attain parasympathetic rest and recovery states. A deep calmness and inner clarity arises.
SPINAL STRENGTHENING
Interoceptive Yoga Movement practices are designed to take movement inward. The focus is shifted from stretches and bends to micro-movements of the spine. These micro-movements strengthen the core back support muscles, energizing the nervous system and Activating the Energy Centres originating in the spine. Combining Interoceptive Breathing with Interoceptive Micro-Movement practices results in an improved state of internal fitness, vibrant nervous system health, positive emotions and glowing energy and light.
MEDITATIVE STRATEGIES
Meditiation is deeply personal and there is respect for all traditions and designs. Interoceptive Meditation practices focus on the Nature of Mind, the Nature of Thoughts and Memories, the manner in which Thoughts Extend into Space and the Unified Nature of Mind and Space.
Training is scaffolded with one practice deepening the next. You will gain all you need to know to align your breathing, movement and thinking. Mastering the foundational practices opens up new worlds in Inner Space. These foundational skills are further developed in subsequent modules.
You guide yourself through the training at your own pace and improve your skills, health and well being as you practice.
